About this site...
[Who are we? Why this site? Why this domain name?]
November, 1997 (updated 'on occassion'...)

This domain name was chosen as a humorous stab at certain inflexible fans of Microsoft and Intel products (often referred to as 'WinBigots'), and has been lovingly maintained since then due to an unexpected stream of hits.

Article submissions can be sent to jdoblak@macbigot.com.

Years ago, when I realized how inexpensive it would be to register a domain name of my own, my wife suggested MacBigot.com -- after having listened to my complaints for years about all the 'Windows Bigots' (IT people and 'regular people') who insist that if Microsoft didn't make it / sell it / package it, then it isn't good enough for business use.

Obviously, for a person who has had experience on multiple platforms, and a history of mileage on well-designed products that existed for years successfully before Micrsoft leveraged them out of business (WordPerfect, Netscape, etc.) -- this is BEYOND an irritation. The Microsoft Way has always been 'if we CAN win by throwing our weight around, we SHOULD -- and at whatever cost is necessary to the competition and consumers.'

Anyway, after existing for a year or so as a personal home page, I began to see a lot more traffic than was due to me for just for a family home page with pictures of our cats and a few jokes. So I began to post items of interest about the Mac platform, and MacEvangelism -- and continued with pretty amazing traffic for several years.

When the 'religious wars' between the Apple camp and Microsofties began to run out of steam, so did my traffic. So my site has returned, mostly, to being my own little chalkboard-in-the-sky for little tidbits I find interesting, and I hit a bit more territory than just the Mac. And so it continues...

This site includes links to products and companies that in turn provide revenue that is put back into this site [though it's unlikely the site will ever make a profit (which puts us in pretty good company), since we've never received more than $1.50 in any given month...]. We will only advertise for companies that we would do business with. Advertising will never influence editorial content.

As this is a pro-Apple/Macintosh site, we will not post rumors or NDA-protected information here that may inhibit the marketing tactics of the company; we believe such behavior to be irresponsible, unfair, dishonourable, and rude.

Certain logos, trademarks, and imagery may be copyrighted material displayed under fair use only; please contact respective holders for permission before re-use.

This site does not discriminate against people because of their race, religion, sexual preference, gender or operating system; we just think Microsoft Windows sucks.
