This morning, when I tried to go to Facebook.com, I was sent instead to a third-party who had designed their web page to look exactly like one on FB — BUT IT WASN’T. (This spam domain was created on 7/6/2010 and sits on a server in the Bahamas that hosts many other similar scams on other domain names.)

At least this time, these jerks were kind enough to leave their URL visible in the address bar. But they’re not always in such a nice mood. Sometimes, they will leave ‘facebook.com’ at the beginning of the address and hide their real destination further down the line. Most users will not pay attention to what’s on the address bar, or what URL is behind a link they’re about to click on… And that’s how they get to you and your computer.

Let’s be careful out there.

If George W. Bush were an elitist snob…

Friday, May 14th, 2010

My Lefty friends maintain that our last President thinks he’s better than us — explaining (what they believe was) his primary failing. Our current President likes to stir up hatred for ‘Elitists’ that are the supposed ‘Enemy from the Right’ and heroes of Capitalism. Perhaps from opposite sides of the aisle, either man could be considered an Elitist. But regardless of your like/dislike of George W. Bush (he had his shortcomings), I have to wonder:

From the mailbag:

If George W. Bush had been the first President to religiously use a teleprompter, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan’s holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to every national leader sporting a ribbon, crown, or turban (besides the Burger King), would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent “Austrian language,” would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to “Cinco de Cuatro” in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word “advice” would you have hammered him for it for years, like Dan Quayle and potatoe, as proof of what a dunce he is?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he’s a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush’s administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush had created the position of 32 or more Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had spent more than all the Presidents combined since George Washington, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can’t think of anything? Don’t worry. He did all of this in his first 10 months — so you’ll have several more years to come up with an answer.

Brooklyn teen being chased by police believes they are vampires, seeks refuge on Holy Ground

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Unfortunately there are also many vocal community leaders who see their church property as some kind of ‘safe zone’, meaning ‘safe from police’, as complaints mount about the hurried and successful attempt to remove the individual before he took hostages or his own life while on the run.

So long as leaders teach their flock, and adults teach their children, that the police are automatically wrong — and that police are not ‘allowed’ in a place of worship regardless of circumstance — that society has lost its grip on fostering civilized members that respect authority and civil order.

But since our President has set the Presidential Example of calling correct police action ‘stupid’, and consistently redirecting every conversation in which he should have apologized for jumping to the wrong conclusion (regarding Cambridge Officer James Crowley) into a holier-than-thou diatribe about a history of racism, he keeps everyone within earshot from believing that we will ever make tangible progress in race relations or in the right use of protective authority.

Kids who are indoctrinated by people with these vendettas are destined for nothing but presumptions of unfairness regardless of what their own eyes see. Sure, there are bad cops. And bad white cops. And good cops of every shade. But unless you have come up with a way to have a civilized society without any police, your children are going to have to be taught — by someone (we assume you’d rather it be you) that criminal behavior is not washed clean just because you know someone, or have somewhere to hide.

Hit list for all the people who used foul language to call me an idiot today because I’m not foaming at the mouth with glee over the Healthcare Takeover

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

First, a program note: Though I am human, and am weak at times, I strive to never call people names, or belittle them, or turn a philosophical difference into a personal attack. I do tend to take the gloves off when commenting on people in power who are ‘thinking for us’, and making decisions and taking action against the will of those they claim to represent. But to lambast a fellow constituent, because I disagree with them? You will never hear the kind of foul language that I’ve been overhearing all day today, as people comment to each other ‘how stupid’ people are who “don’t understand that this is made especially to benefit them” (note the condescending ‘White-Man’s Burden’ to save the ‘po folk’ who are apparently the only people who are protesting at the Tea Party rallies. The implication is that anyone against the Healthcare Takeover must be Ignorant Trailer Trash, who need to be saved from themselves.

Second, there is an ongoing meme, supported by the Mainstream Media just as adherently as the Democrat party-line, that the ‘crimes’ committed by the health & medical insurance industry (who take less than 2% profits from the service we pay them for) will somehow not be committed by the government — as if the Federal Hegemony will be more pure, more trustworthy, more transparent. I repeat: We are not looking for a savior. Those of us clinging to our guns and religion already have one of those — what we want from the government is to stop adding to the controls they have over every aspect of our lives.

“At the heart of this debate is the question of whether we’re going to accept a system that works better for the insurance companies than it does for the American people — (applause) — because if this vote fails, the insurance industry will continue to run amok. They will continue to deny people coverage. They will continue to deny people care. They will continue to jack up premiums 40 or 50 or 60 percent as they have in the last few weeks without any accountability whatsoever.” President Obama, March 19, 2010.

About Those ‘Racial Slurs:’ Real News or Media Propaganda? (BigJournalism.com)

An ongoing tactic of belittling and personal attacks has been the acceptable, even expected, amoral code for the Left for decades. This decade, the cry of ‘Racism!’ is by far the favorite — so much so that anyone daring to side with Conservative thought are instantly branded, and any minority with Conservative views is an ‘Uncle Tom’.

Since the following video was first posted, John Lewis and the Congressional Black Caucus have claimed they were called racial slurs by Tea Party members opposed to Obamacare. As you can see in the video, there is no evidence of the so-called “N-word” or any other slur being used (or the Representatives ducking or flinching from being spat upon), despite the claims of the CBC and their lapdogs at CNN, NBC, MSNBC, CBS.

As several commentators have noted, the absence of video evidence does not prove that their reports are invalid; however with dozens of cameras rolling, it becomes less believable when these Representatives are on their way to screw the American people, and their children’s children’s children. Their credibility is simply zero — and that has nothing at all to do with race; but instead is this one blogger’s estimation of the content of their character.

From the Power Line Blog:
Any number of people, including news organizations, were covering the protest and House Democrats’ actions yesterday. If the Democrats’ charge is true, evidence of it should exist. Clyburn et al. should either produce video that confirms their allegation, or else apologize to the anti-Obamacare demonstrators. And the AP should investigate before it reports charges as facts.

I am upset over those in the media (whether ‘fair and balanced’ or ‘mainstream left’) who choose to call the opponents of this Statist takeover of the healthcare industry as ‘against healthcare reform’. I am not surprised that those selling the idea use this terminology — in fact, I expect it from them. But for the media to pretend that they are impartial, and to still promulgate this turn of phrase — that is, in journalistic terms at least, no less than criminal. To be clear, no one is against healthcare reform; not even the healthcare industry that the Democrats intend to dismantle, destroy, fold, spindle and mutilate.

On top of this, our Esteemed Pile of Change continually hammers the idea that the Republican Party has refused to come to the table with any ideas. In fact, he went out of his way to claim (not imply) that the G.O.P. had even refused to sit down to discuss what was already slung across the table by his own band of merry men. On both points, (as was once pointed out by Joe Wilson) He Lied. To catch you (those of you who do not know how to use Google) up:

Healthcare.GOP.gov
Healthcare.CATO.org
Center for Health Transformation

Thirdly, Obama likes to talk about how the Federal government is going to whisk the cover of darkness away, and make the legislative process a ‘transparent’ one. In fact, Nancy Pelosi has called this “the most transparent and ethical Congress”:

It should go without saying that anyone paying attention will have the same disdainful view on the ‘bipartisan’ efforts of this President, and his puppetmasters Pelosi and Reid, while disappearing into back-rooms where C-SPAN cameras and any Republican with an idea to shake in the air can’t find them.

The last thing that torques my panties is the idea, accepted by everyone from Chris Matthews on down the line, that Barack is somehow absolved from the responsibility of error because of the treacherously impossible condition that the country was left in by his predecessor, George W. Bush.

Mr. Bush was, by many measures, a decent President — but I can understand why people of differing opinions might dislike what a man, not themselves, has done. I can even understand the tendency to bad-mouth that person for all eternity. What I can’t understand, though, is that despite the data, the media is happy to keep the Obamanut as their god by parroting everything he says as the gospel truth.

“By any measure, my administration has inherited a fiscal disaster.” -President Barack ‘The-Buck-Stops-Here’ Obama

But it’s not a surprise for anyone who chooses to pay attention — Obama has used Bush in comparative fashion even before he was elected to lie to the American people:

One thing is sure: Obama himself is the only sure winner here, as his name will be forevermore written as the Father of American Healthcare. Whether he will ever realize what that means to us as a nation depends on how much older and wiser he lives to be, and whether his ego will ever pale in significance to the success of us all as a country.

And you folks who think it’s appropriate to crank up the potty hole to belittle and bully people who don’t see things the same way you do…

You kiss your mother with that mouth?

You are correct; most American Conservative voters HAVE NO PLAN.

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

“I have no plan to order the lives of the 40 million uninsured. I have no plans for how you should run your life, what insurance you should have, or where you should spend you money; and frankly I find it a little creepy that you have a plan for ordering my private life. And let’s face it, you don’t plan to insure 40 million Americans, you plan to force the other 250 million Americans to do it.”

This, and further clarity on the subject, opined by Cory Genelin over at AmericanThinker.com.

But then, you would have to have the Audacity to Hope that the Lefty Lemming you’re conversing with has the ability to discuss and consider — rather than prejudging your ideas based on whatever Obama, Chris Matthews, and Saul Alinsky have taught them about you and your inability to cogitate.

Recovery.gov is named BACKWARDS, because it only highlights how quickly we are spiraling AWAY from economic stability and employment growth

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Remember when it was reported decades ago that the United States Federal government was paying hundreds of dollars — each — for toilet seats and hammers?

Later, it was found that the high cost of seemingly mundane items had been engineered to mask the dollars truthfully spent on huge government waste, individuals treating their expense accounts like personal piggy banks, and pet projects that never would have passed muster if reviewed and vetted through proper channels.

Now we are spending millions on dozens of federal web sites that are designed to make us all feel better about… the millions of dollars being spent to grow the government.

But these are all turning out to be so untrustworthy that we would settle for mere ‘propaganda’ — at least with propaganda, much of what you are told is true. What happens when the information posted to these multi-million-dollar web sites is actually examined and cross-checked with known facts?

From CBN:

“The Web site listed $6.4 billion going to 440 congressional districts that don’t exist. Congress only has 435 real districts.

The Franklin Center report also showed how Recovery.gov had the four American territories receiving stimulus money in their 23 congressional districts, when in fact they have zero districts.

In Washington D.C., there is just one congresswoman, but Recovery.gov shows the city has 12 congressional districts getting hefty amounts of stimulus funds.

In Arizona, the Web site has almost $35 million going to the state’s 15th and 86th districts — neither exist.”

Watch the report:

Years from now, we may find that all the millions wasted on these feel-good-but-don’t-check-the-math web sites are just a newer, more modern way to buy $400 toilet seats… although this time it’s plain to see — there really is a lot of shit passing through the center of this taxpayer-funded travesty.

Rush Limbaugh is in trouble again. For stooping to the amorality of his own ‘admirers’ for just a moment — but only for a moment. Chris Matthews thinks this is some kind of proof that Rush is beneath him. Yeah… beneath Chris Matthews.

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

So I was completely unaware of this story until I saw a lead-in for our local evening news that flashed across the screen that Mr. Limbaugh had been ‘unprofessional’ and had ‘run with an unverified story’. These same ‘professional newscasters’ had previously run with the ‘story’ that the talk show host had made the fabricated racially-insensitive statements that had been attributed to him. They now apparently believe that Mr. Limbaugh, a professional talker with an informative and entertaining show format, should be held to the rules they no longer value for themselves — professional journalists.

From ‘Ignorant Media Misses Our Satiric Tweak on the Obama Thesis Hoax’ (RushLimbaugh.com)

Now, the setup for this, of course, is that I was libeled and slandered by countless members of the media, fabricated quotes, made-up quotes I never stated, never uttered, never wrote, nothing, were repeated all over this country by sportswriters, television cable hosts and so forth. After we proved to them that I didn’t do it they retracted it a week later, after the damage, and many of them said, “It still doesn’t matter, we know Limbaugh thinks it anyway.”

So last Friday, I get a note from a friend who says, “You ought to see what’s on this blog.” I looked at it, and it was Obama, his thesis from Columbia, “so-called Founders,” didn’t like what they did with the Constitution, there wasn’t enough talk about distribution of wealth and so forth. I said, “Well, this has a ring of truth to it,” because we’ve got Obama on radio from Chicago 2001 complaining about the Supreme Court not doing enough about redistribution. So we ran with it, made a big deal out of it in the first hour. In the second hour, I got a note saying, “Hey, Rush, we looked at this, we can’t back this up, we can’t find any actual sourcing for this.” So at that point I warned the audience that it may not be true, that we are still checking it.

Shortly thereafter I learned that the whole thing was made up, it was a satire piece on an obscure website. Then I said, “Okay, folks, I have to tell you, it’s satire, there’s no evidence that Obama ever wrote this, but, Media Tweak of the Day, I don’t care, I know he thinks it anyway because I’ve got audio of Obama saying it, talking about the Supreme Court.” And we all got a great laugh about it because I corrected it immediately, I explained that it was a hoax, or was satire and then to tweak the media I said, “But I don’t care, I’m sticking with it because I know he thinks it anyway.” So I dished out to Obama what the whole media did to me and I dished it back at the media as well.

Some of the ‘media professionals’ are having great fun running with this ‘news’:

ROSSINI: “When Rush Limbaugh discovers a hoax, he corrects it immediately. So what he spent a good part of his Friday broadcast gloating over an Internet story about how a TIME Magazine reporter got a hold of the president’s college thesis, and in it he disses the Constitution? So what the story was fake? When Limbaugh realized the report was fake he didn’t say sorry, not even oops.”

MATTHEWS: “Rush didn’t realize that it was a joke and broadcast the thesis story Friday as evidence that the president is, quote, anti-constitutionalist. Later in that same show Rushbo was told that the story was a hoax. Did he correct the record? Not exactly.”

Rush reiterates that he was mocking the treatment that ‘journalists’ had dished out to him over the fabricated statements he supposedly made that affected his ability to invest in an NFL property:

RUSH: These people! He has no clue that I’m parodying what happened to me, that he participated in. I don’t think I’ve gotten an apology from Matthews on this. So we stand by the fabricated quote? (laughing) I don’t know, folks. It’s fun. Did he correct the record? I shout from the mountaintops, element of truth, we know how he feels about distribution — We do know how he feels about it, so we stand by the fabricated quote. (laughing) Which is exactly what happened to me. I’m out of words to describe the insular world and the utter, utter lack of a sense of humor that these people have, particularly where Obama is concerned.

FINALLY, a way to control costs: Just tell the cops they aren’t allowed to chase anyone… in their vehicles OR on foot.

‘White people showing up with guns…’

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

I’m getting so very tired of this. Watch this video of a news anchor spin attendees at a Townhall rally, specifically leading her audience about ‘white people with guns’… and making this seem (like most MSM shills for this Administration have been) like an issue of race (rather than government abuse, class warfare, and an attempt to preserve the status quo). And while you’re watching, notice how hard the cameraman works to hide from viewers the fact that the man carrying his rifle is not an ‘angry white militia extremist’ — because knowing that wouldn’t play into the conjecture and drivel that these ‘newscaster’ follow the footage with:

Now, watch this OTHER clip, showing the same man, who is NOT a ‘white man with a gun’ as the first clip was intentionally framed to make you believe:

That is not a man trying to shoot his President, or a member of a redneck militia. This is not about threats of violence; this is about a government that is blindly supported by a media that is just as willing to mislead the public as is Whitehouse.gov.

The ‘shovel-ready’ idea that the Administration is spinning tells of Conservatives that are somehow trying to subvert indisputable improvements, and who don’t want anything to ‘change’ or ‘progress’. Nothing could be further from the truth. We do want heathcare to improve — for EVERYONE — we just don’t believe that harming the healthcare of MOST for the sake of SOME who are underserved is the proper course of action. Let’s fix what is broken, instead of taking away what works.

Pelosi, the Presidency, and the media are all operating with an imperative to convince the undecided or uninformed that anyone who is against more government meddling in our free market system is somehow a racist, uneducated, emotion-driven, mentally unstable, socially defunct, extreme-thinking, fringe influence.

The Truth is, we are free citizens. And we plan to stay that way.

Obama on Officer Crowley: Typical White Cop. Fellow Officer on Obama: “I Supported Him, I Voted for Him, I Will Not Again!”

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

A few days ago, I expressed dismay that Obama had stopped short of apologizing to Officer Crowley (real leaders apparently don’t apologize, especially if the voters put him there to fight for the Common Man…).

For the sake of the many readers who have said, “How dare you diss our President…”; I give you the people that work with this supposedly racist cop every day, in the trenches (see video, below). Obama says the situation points out that we have a lot of work to do in the area of racial stereotypes — and never once backs down from the high-and-mighty view that Professor Gates and ‘others’ were somehow the victims in this discussion, rather than a white cop simply doing his job — who got abused for having dared to show up with a badge, and not enough of a tan. Take a moment to review the widely-distributed incident reports [PDF].

For an, um alternate viewpoint, the professor’s daughter spoke in several interviews to say that her father had been a big supporter of the local law enforcement before the incident, and that he ‘might be one of the last black men on earth who actually believed in the justice system’.

“You know, my father is a proponent of, you know, intellectualism can help you outrun the – the war on race. And I think the incident last week is a clear indication that that’s not yet true… You know, he believes in following the rules, and when they’re broken, it kind of disturbs his sense of security. And yeah, he was deeply heartbroken. I was not surprised, but he was very surprised.”

He was ‘surprised’ that shouting the Race Card didn’t work out for him, despite having his own cottage industry of books on what it is to be an African American in this generation.

She makes her father out to be some sort of mediator in a crisis of his own creation, and calls Officer Crowley ‘uncooperative’ because he hasn’t accepted an invitation to meet Gates, together with the Mayor.

“I think he needs to maybe extend his sensitivity training,” Elizabeth Gates said of Crowley, and stressed the importance of the officer sitting down with her father. … If it’s left as is, we’re going to rely on our preconceived notions of race.”

She was even given the opportunity to interview her father for a widely-read online magazine — reading this piece after you’ve learned the facts in the case should indeed make your blood boil about race relations — but not the way these two intend.

Fox News Sunday panelist Bill Kristol opined:

“I really don’t think this is about race. … This is about class. … This was about presuming that the Harvard professor was right, and the cop was wrong.”

Class indeed. Obama chose to believe this guy who has been grandstanding to sell another book, rather than the police reports and several third-party witnesses. I am not impressed, soothed, or surprised — and if you are, I hope you will pay more attention to our public figures before the election in 2010.

Nor am I able to believe, especially now, that Obama can claim to disagree with the racist rantings of his former Pastor of 20 years.

I made a comment on someone’s site a couple of weeks ago that I hope that we get a different black man into the Oval Office next term — because if we let things glide along as they are, Mr. Obama will have ‘taught’ Americans that the consequences of having an African American President are Socialism, the bolstering of the Welfare State, and a default mindset begging decades of reparations. But that is not the definition of a black man in America — it’s only the perception created by one extremist that has achieved a political office. For my comments, I was labeled a Klansman-in-reverse … the commenters argued that no one should ever be elected on the basis of race alone.

I agree that race should not be the sole deciding factor in an election; but we stand now at a time in our history where it is very important. And it’s time for a Black Fiscally-Conservative, Socially-Moderate voice with the needs of the country at heart to correct the mis-shapen view created by Obama — that a black man tears the foundations of our country apart, speaks well but acts poorly, demands transparency but hides his own actions, and believes that Alinsky had a better world view than our Founding Fathers.

The male figures in my life that I chose to emulate would never have stood by to allow me to shirk from the responsibility to be honest, even in my failings. Perhaps I’m being unrealistic in my demands — but I’d like to hope my President is at least as true a man as I am.

From CNN.com with h/t to Politijam.

You are correct, Ms. Mayor — this is about race. And a lack of profesionalism. No argument there.

Obama would never have paid for 15 of his 17 Cambridge parking tickets if he hadn’t needed to clean up his record to run for President

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Yeah. In that same district where those (white) cops behave stupidly.

Maybe Obama didn’t know that there were other, ‘civilian’ witnesses to the Gates incident [PDF].

Maybe Obama didn’t know that there were two other cops there (both not white) that wholly or partially back up the (white) arresting officer’s report; and failing that, notably do not back up the version told by Mr. Gates.

Maybe Obama is ignorant of laws that requires citizens to provide identification to a peace officer when requested — no matter what color that officer is.

Maybe Obama had no way to be aware that the (white) arresting officer’s experience being an assigned instructor within his department on the topic of police profiling meant that (white) Officer Crowley was acutely aware of and responsible to the proper and professional way to avoid, and if necessary, diffuse and/or manage a situation which escalated based on racial accusations.

Maybe Obama believes (since he didn’t yet have all the facts at the time of the press conference) that Gates had proven satisfactorily that he was the resident long before tempers flared.

But none of that matters.

You see, Barack knew something you didn’t before that press conference the other day; even though he had not yet been briefed fully on this particular situation, he felt he had enough history to understand what kind of (white) police professionalism can be expected from the (white) Cambridge Police Department, and that information was enough for him to tarnish the reputation of a good (white) officer doing a good (white) job.

First ‘Sarah Palin’, the mayor of a small town.

Then ‘Joe the Plumber’, who asked the wrong question in a disrespectful manner.

Now James Crowley, racist cop.

You can bet your health coverage that this (white) individual will be dragged behind the chariot for months now, for having dared to offend The One — just like we have seen with Joe and Sarah.

What could have made (half-white) Obama so sure that he could rely on the unwavering and unquestionable incompetence of this particular police department?

The AP news wire shares some of what they know about Barack-The-Uniters’s attitude toward civic responsibilities and local (white) law enforcement — specifically in the Cambridge Police Department’s jurisdiction:

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama got more than an education when he attended Harvard Law School in the late 1980s. He also got a healthy stack of parking tickets, most of which he never paid.

The Illinois Senator shelled out $375 in January – two weeks before he officially launched his presidential campaign – to finally pay for 15 outstanding parking tickets and their associated late fees.

The story was first reported Wednesday by The Somerville News.

Obama received 17 parking tickets in Cambridge between 1988 and 1991, mostly for parking in a bus stop, parking without a resident permit and failing to pay the meter, records from the Cambridge Traffic, Parking and Transportation office show.

He incurred $140 in fines and $260 in late fees in Cambridge in all, but he paid $25 for two of the tickets in February 1990.

Jen Psaki, a spokeswoman for the Obama campaign, dismissed the tickets as not relevant.

“He didn’t owe that much and what he did owe, he paid,” Psaki said on Wednesday. “Many people have parking tickets and late fees. All the parking tickets and late fees were paid in full.”

I have to wonder what color of paper the Cambridge Police Department uses for its traffic citations; perhaps all these bad feelings and mistrust could have been avoided if they had only switched to goldenrod.

There was a chance Americans would NOT be thrown under the bus by a bunch of greedy, lying legislators; but it was a very small one.

8 Republican Assholes Who Helped Cap and Trade Pass the House (Feed Your ADHD)

Once there were 8 RINOs in the House of Representatives who wanted to tax you even more than you already are in the name of some fictional assholery called “Global Warming,” a scheme that was hatched (by snakes) for nothing more than to transfer enormous parts of your freedom and wealth to that great frontier of trustworthiness and piety and “your best interest” — good ole Washington, D.C.

They wanted to force your electric bill to go up.

They wanted to force you to pay more for your vehicles and the fuels you put in them.

They wanted you to pay more for your jacuzzi and your microwave and your hairdryer and Grandma Jane’s trusty air conditioner for the enclosed patio.

Today they were the difference between cap and tax getting stuck in the wax between Henry “The Thing” Waxman’s ample ears and you getting to pay more for the crap you buy…not to mention more of if that will be made overseas….because who the hell wants to do business in a country that taxes them to death?

FINAL VOTE: 219 – 212 PASSES (click for source)

Their names were:

And even though this bill still has to go through the Senate, I think you should help me give all of these fine 8 traitors a friendly “[ED] You,” don’t you?

From Moonshine to Mexican marijuana: Family gets busted (CNN.com)

The investigation showed how an 83-year-old grandfather adapted to the times, morphing from old school bootlegging to dealing Mexican dope.

Their story has all the intrigue of a classic Southern novel — three generations of a family business on the wrong side of the law, complete with an old fashioned family feud.

The drugs, mostly marijuana, were trucked from Mexico through California and Arizona and then distributed across five counties in Georgia and one in Tennessee, authorities say. They were hidden in just about anything — furniture, roofs of big-rigs and tire wells. Once the shipments arrived, the dope was put in 50-caliber ammunition cans and buried in the woods, where buyers would pick up the stash and leave behind thousands in cash, authorities say.

At the heart of the operation was 46-year-old Michael Leon Smith, who authorities say became one of the richest men in Chattooga County, population 25,000, as he laundered his drug money by buying up dozens of pieces of property. One tract of land sits on Old Justice Road, an ironic name considering the law finally caught up with him.

Smith’s 83-year-old father, Paul Leon Faulkner, was also busted. Eight others, including Faulkner’s grandson (Smith’s nephew), pleaded guilty to an array of charges related to the drug ring. The drugs mostly involved marijuana, but methamphetamine and cocaine were also part of the smuggling operation, authorities say.

“Michael’s a wonderful family man, a Christian — which means a lot to him, a very religious man. And I point out that in the Bible, God gave us every seed-bearing plant, and I think Michael looked at it that way. And, unfortunately, our government since 1937 has not seen it as a God-given right.” …

‘Liberalism relies on lying.’

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

This article is about tactics, more than abortion — but the abortion argument is the ‘test case’ for this author’s explanation — so if that’s too much of a hot-button for you, go ahead and read somewhere else today, please…

From WhoIsJohnGalt.com: ‘The Opposite of Lying’

“Lying, you see, is not about being untruthful — it is about controlling the information a person receives, distorting reality, so that they act on flawed facts. It is about making another person your own means to an end. This is the reason fraud ranks right up there with force as an enemy of reason. And it is why we should expect a liar to say “yes” when it’s the answer that suits him best. He’s not concerned with being untruthful; he’s concerned with controlling your actions by altering the information you use to make decisions.

A fetus, women are told, is just tissue. If you believe that is a lie, you might think the remedy is to deny it. This law [requiring an ultrasound before an abortion] is different — it says: “See for yourself.” And liberalism has a problem with this, not because it refutes their “tissue” argument, but because it truly allows a woman to make an informed choice. And here you thought they were protecting a woman’s right to choose.

… abortion activists are suing states over specialty license plates with slogans like ‘Choose Life.’ Tell me, if you wanted to make abortion “safe, legal and rare,” do you think choosing life more would make abortion rarer? I do.

The truth is that we’ve been told that one side is about life, while the other side is about choice. When I see the life side clobbering the choice side by espousing choice, it puts the choice side in a very uncomfortable position of having to face what it is they really seek. And that’s a lot like looking into a baby’s face and calling it tissue.

So what does liberalism really seek, with regard to abortion? Well, it seeks what it always wants: a way to escape the consequences of irresponsible action by shifting some cost (in this case a very brutal and violent one) — onto an innocent, but politically unrepresented, minority. And it relies on misrepresentations like “it’s just tissue,” to garner support from people who simply don’t know better. Liberalism relies on lying.”
